Tuesday Update: Chatch Issues Own Death Warrant, New Jack Returns!!?!

Tuesday, June 10, 2008

Weekend Recap: "The Homeless Luchador" Chatch overcame insurmountable odds to win the second annual Liberty Lottery and earn a title shot at the champion of his choice. When VCW Owner Travis Bradshaw inquired what title Chatch wanted to vie for, he opted for VCW Heavyweight Champion Q-Sic. Bradshaw tried numerous times to have Chatch change in his mind, but he would have none of it. This was in despite of Q-Sic choking out former champion Sean Denny earlier on the show. Q-Sic headed out to confront and devastate his oversized opponent. Each time, Q-Sic knocked Chatch down, he got right back up. Q-Sic quickly resorted to Chatch's antics by choking him out. After all was said in done, a near fan favorite had emerged. On July 19 at the Masonic Temple in Norfolk, VA, Q-Sic will put his title up against a man who has nothing to lose. Other highlights included the Hall Stars successfully defending the VCW Tag Team Titles, Q-Sic choking out Sean Denny to retain the VCW Heavyweight Title. In WCEW, Money Clip (Dillinger & Tracy Gilbert) pulled a monumental upset over the Kings of Carolina, who was missing one WCEW Heavyweight Champion Corey Edsel. Cory Duncum subbed for Edsel. However, the story didn't end there because Edsel's tag partner, KC McKnight won a 20 man battle royal to earn a title shot. It's definitely a situation that will have major implications on the champion's future on August 8 & 9. Also, Bobby Wohlfert defeated Hangtime to capture WCEW New Class Title, and Cletus Bass defeated J Prep Esquire to retain the WCEW Extreme Title.

Monday Update: Sturgis Returns to Managerial Duties and Changes VCW Forever!

Monday, June 2, 2008

VCW TV Taping Recap: Devin Sturgis returned to his evil and maniacal managerial duties by concocting a devious scheme to split the Old School Empire. The story unfolded when Sturgis innocently observed former VCW Heavyweight Champion Mike Booth defeated Chris Escobar in a good match. Afterwards, Sturgis offered a handshake and his services to Booth, who had failed to secure a rematch with the current champion Q-Sic. Preston Quinn headed out to dissuade Booth. Booth walked out claiming that he knew what was best for Mike Booth. Fast forward to the main event where Q-Sic was defending against Phil Brown in a lumberjack match. The action turned for worse when Q-Sic instigated a sequence with Booth. Brown had reached the ropes to force a break to Q-Sic's cobra clutch, but Booth continued to distract the referee as he was incensed at Q-Sic's actions. With Sturgis's master plan unfolding, Q-Sic retained and a riot ensued. Booth walked off in frustration and Brown continued to recuperate while the riot ensued. In other major events, Justin Flash pulled off a pair of major upsets to become the new VCW US Liberty States Champion, the Hall Brothers retaining the VCW Tag Team Titles, Idol X making a successful return, and 6D6 celebrating the Jolly Green Giant while losing his hair.
